What a journey it has been. Let me give you a little background story. My name is Arnaud Leduc from Montreal, Quebec. I grew up in a small town called Mercier where I landed a steady construction job and worked to the bone from early morning to late night. I had a revelation that this was so not the life for me and picked up a side busboy job at Courcelle. Yup, thats right, I would work until 4-5 in the morning and power nap for an hour and head straight to my construction job. I've always been that kind of person though, I love being busy and working. Shortly after a couple of physical burnouts I realized that I just wasn't happy in construction. I had an awesome guy take me under his wing at Courcelle and start teaching me how to bartend and I immediately fell in love. There are some people who like the ambiance of bartending and have a blast just drinking and hanging with the customers. Then Id like to think there's people like me. I love every aspect of bartending and more so the actual creation of cocktails. Learning different flavors and knowing how to balance the perfect ingredients to create an experience. Just like fine foods or fine wines, cocktails are just so underrated in terms of experiences for the palette. Montreal has such a lack of cocktail bars or just awareness of what a good cocktail is in general. That's what I wanted to do: Change the scene and create a proper footprint.

THE INSPIRATION
So I was sitting around trying to come up with a name that made sense with the inspiration I had behind the cocktail. When Don Facundo Bacardi opened their first distillery in Santiago Cuba, they discovered fruit bats which inspired their well know symbol associated with Bacardi today. The idea of fruit bats helped me decide that my drink had to include a fruit component that would help play up the woody noted of Bacardi but still stay true to its roots.
In many different Spanish Cultures the bat symbolizes three things: Health, Prosperity and Family Unity. These same three principles is what inspired my cocktail because it is also three huge qualities that has helped Don Facundo Bacardi have the success he has today.
And so, I started playing around with the number three and fell upon a name that perfectly describes my drink: La Triada
